The Sanctuary Choir is open to all interested adult singers. This group leads the congregation in most worship services, and in special services and concerts during the year. This group sings a wide variety of music from Classical to Contemporary, as well as exploring various ethnic influences in choral singing. While this is a close knit group within our larger church family, we always welcome new voices. Some knowledge of singing and music reading is helpful, but is not absolutely necessary. Anyone who can "carry a tune" can enjoy being in the Sanctuary Choir. Members are expected to attend rehearsals and services regularly.
The choir enjoys an annual weekend retreat to Port Aransas in early September.
Occasional extra rehearsals are called to prepare for concerts and festival Sundays.
Bells of Praise
Our handbell ensemble for adults with musical experience, Bells of Praise rings our 5 octave set of Schulmerich Handbells about once a month for worship and participates in choir concerts and other special services. This group requires the ability to read music and a commitment to weekly rehearsals. We are also always looking for people with ringing experience that can’t make the weekly commitment for our alternates list. In addition to the regular worship participation, this group prepares annually for a December concert featuring the San Antonio Harp Ensemble.
Director: Matt Goodson, Minister of Music
Rehearsals: Monday 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.
APLC Orchestra
Instrumentalists regularly accompany the liturgy at the 11:00 Sunday Worship service and for most festival worship services and special concerts. We have need for all instruments – brass, woodwinds, strings, rhythm, keyboard, and percussion. The different instruments participate depending on musical arrangements used. Players of all instruments, youth and adult, are encouraged to introduce themselves to the music staff.

Children's Chorus
The Children's Chorus is for 2nd through 6th graders. This group works on correct vocal production, music reading skills, and performance etiquette. Miss Sandy has years of training and experience with children's voices, and chooses music that is both fun and challenging for young singers. Teaching the fundamentals of our Christian faith through song, Children's Chorus offers the foundation for a lifetime of church involvement and musical enjoyment. The children also enjoy a quarterly social activity.
Director: Sandy Musk, Music Associate
Rehearsals: Wednesday 6:00 – 6:45 p.m.

APLC Chancel Organ In October 2005, Abiding Presence dedicated a new organ built by Parkey OrganBuilders of Atlanta, Georgia. The instrument, the firm’s Opus R38, has two manuals, 31 stops, and 27 ranks, with a total of 1420 pipes. It is to the credit of Parkey OrganBuilders that this instrument was successfully moved from Pennsylvania and rebuilt in our new sanctuary.
