Pastor Dawn Silvius

210-494-8884 Ext. 210

Pastor Dawn was born into a mobile family. In each place the family settled, priority number one was to join a Lutheran congregation. Pastor Dawn grew up with roots in worship and fellowship and she learned to know the church as a place of profound welcome in Christ’s name.

She met Jim Silvius on a Luther League retreat in the mountains of southern California. After a year when she was an exchange student in Germany and another year when she was a college student in Minnesota, she managed to get back to California where she and Jim were married and where they settled down to raise a family. Two sons, Erik and Pete, and daughter, Julie, were all born in California. They are now grown with families of their own and they all reside in central Texas. Ask her about her grandchildren!

Pastor Dawn is a graduate of Texas Lutheran College and Princeton Theological Seminary. She interned at St. Bartholomew Lutheran Church in Trenton, NJ and has served as pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran, Princeton Junction, NJ, Emmanuel Lutheran, Tekamah, NE and St. John Lutheran Church in Jourdanton, TX. From 2006 until mid-2011 she served as an Intentional Interim in the Southwestern Texas Synod.

Pastor Dawn likes to join people gathered around a table – to collaborate, to share a meal, to share prayer and conversation, and, most of all, at the Table where Jesus says, “…given for you and for all people.”

Pastor Steve is a lifelong Lutheran, born and raised in Alvin Tx. He attended Texas Lutheran University where he received a BA in Music with an emphasis on voice and choral directing. He has served multiple congregations in the hill country as choir director, youth director, outreach coordinator and multimedia director.

He felt called to ordained ministry and entered the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest (www.lsps.edu) in the fall of 2004. He graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained in 2008. His first call was to a wonderful community in the Brenham country side at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg. He served as pastor there for 3 years before taking this call to APLC.

Pastor Steve met the love of his life, Rebecca, prior to seminary and married her after his first year in 2005. Just nine months later they were blessed with their first child Elisia Jane. During his first call at Rehburg, Steve and Becca were blessed with their second child, Samuel Craig. Steven loves spending time with his family and making his kids laugh hysterically. He loves music and plays multiple instruments, but is most fond of the guitar and singing. His door is always open for good conversation, a good cup of coffee or a good jam session. Stop on by.
